NOT HI-FI,BUT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD5
I HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN HI-FI FOR MANY YEARS,TO THOSE OF YOU WHO (UNLIKE
ME) HAVE A LIFE AND ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE NAME KLIPSCH,THE ARE AN
AMERICAN COMPANY WHOSE LOUDSPEAKERS ARE HIGHLY REGARDED AND RATHER
EXPENSIVE,UNLIKE THE I-GROOVE SXT.
SOUND QUALITY FOR MOST PEOPLE IS VERY GOOD,PERHAPS A LITTLE TOO MUCH BASS,
BUT THIS CAN BE TAMED BY USING THE BASS REDUCE SETTING ON YOUR I-POD,OR
BY PUTTING THE I-GROOVE ON A DIFFERENT SURFACE.FOR ANYONE WHO HAS A FEAR OF TECHNOLOGY,DON'T WORRY,THIS SYSTEM IS EASILY ASSEMBLED WITHIN MINUTES
THE USER MANUAL IS CLEAR AND CONCISE.THE SYSTEM WORKS WELL WITH MY 80GB
CLASSIC,THE ONLY SMALL NIGGLE,IS THE VERY BASIC REMOTE CONTROL.
OBVIOUSLY(DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF I-POD YOU HAVE)THEI-GROOVE CAN CHARGE
YOUR I-POD AS WELL.I PAID 99.99 FOR MINE AND AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT.
DON'T PAY MORE FOR THE BOSE UNIT,BUY THE I-GROOVE INSTEAD.HMV HAVE THIS
UNIT ON DISPLAY IN LARGER STORE,TAKE YOUR OWN I-POD IN WITH YOU AND ASK
THEM TO LET YOU TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

Firstly, this was ordered on a friday and delivered the next day so well worth paying the extra.

Now the unit itself. I was amazed at how small it is, extremely neat and had no problems with cables and power pack as mentioned by the grump who gave 2 stars.

My ipod fits straight in (30GB Video one) remote control ok, haven't been able to find a limit to range in the flat so ok.

Sound quality cannot be faulted, I was really worried about the bass or lack of it but now I realise I shouldn't have been. In fact it may be a touch too heavy on Bass but a change in the EQ settings solves that.

I haven't given this 5 out of 5 because there is room for improvement. The biggest improvement would be a way of actually being able to select different albums through the remote and the other improvement would be an EQ adjustment on the unit itself.
These are just minor points and does not detract from the overall satisfaction I get from this speaker system.

If, like I did, you are umming and aahhing over what speaker system to get then don't, take the plunge, it's great, you won't be disappointed!

I WAS AFTER A REASONABLY PRICED IPOD/MPS PLAYER,NARROWED MY CHOICES DOWN TO THREE.INTEMPO RDI,JBL ON TIME & LOGIC3 JIVEBOX.
JBL SOUNDED GOOD BUT DIDN'T LIKE THE SHAPE & RADIO RECEPTION WAS POOR.LOGIC3 SOUNDED VERY GOOD,GREAT BASE,BUT OF THE 3 DEMONSTRATORS I FOUND ONLY ONE WORKED AND THE INTEMPO,COMPARED TO THE OTHERS SOUNDED VERY "THIN" IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
WHILST TRAWLING THE SHOPS I TRIED TWO BOSE DOCKS, THE SOUNDDOCK AND SOUNDDOCK PORTABLE,BOTH SOUNDED VERY VERY GOOD,BUT THE CHEAPER ONES CASE VIBRATED IF TURNED UP HIGH.CONSIDERING THEY WERE £150 & £300 THEY DIDN'T SEEM GOOD VALUE.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO KLIPSCH,GOING FROM REVIEWS HERE AND FROM YOUTUBE,I TOOK A STAB AND BOUGHT AN iGROOVE SXT,ONLY BECAUSE IT WAS SMALLER & CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER CURVIER iGROOVE HG DOCK (SINCE REDUCED,JUST TYPICAL).
THE SXT IS VERY GOOD.THE SOUND IT PRODUCES SEEMS FULL AND NICELY ROUNDED WITH GOOD BASE,TO ME IT'S AS GOOD AS THE £150 BOSE,BUT IT LOOKS & FEELS A BETTER QUALITY DOCK,AND AT NEARLY HALF THE PRICE.
IF THE LEVEL OF BASE AS SET IS TOO HIGH, ALTER THE SETTING VIA THE EQ MENU ON YOUR IPOD.IT DOES HAVE AN EFFECT.
